She has an MA in folklore and 17 years of experience in K-12 and higher education classrooms. As a consultant and trainer, Frances has delivered educational content to audiences in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Africa, and she is familiar with the complexities that face many International Schools. Frances has consulted with a wide range of organizations to support the implementation of educational technology and 21st century learning principles. She is passionate about creating educational environments that value diversity, equity, and inclusion and that inspire all learners to succeed.

Dr. Pete Loper Mental Health & Social Emotional Learning Expert
Dr. Pete Loper is a multidisciplinary physician triple board-certified in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. He is a professor of psychiatry and pediatrics, and an executive leadership coach. In addition to his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Loper has a Master of Science in Education. He has over a decade of experience diagnosing and managing pediatric mental illness and served as the Medical Director for the first school-based psychiatry program in the state of South Carolina. Dr. Loper has been featured in numerous academic publications and media outlets, and it is through these channels that he can dedicate his time to being an advocate for mental health and wellness.

Jeff Mao Education Technology (EdTech) Expert
Jeff Mao is an internationally known education technology leader. He brings over 30 years of experience in the public and non-profit sectors. He is a leader who builds relationships and partnerships across industries and sectors. He has a proven record of recognizing the big picture and championing change and action for the common good. Jeff has keynoted international events sponsored by UNESCO, World Bank, InterAmerica-Development Bank, and the Korean Education and Research Information Service Action. He served as the Learning Technology Policy Director for the Maine Department of Education (2004-2014). In that role, he provided leadership and education technology policy support to four Commissioners of Education. His work included collaborating and developing solutions with other state and federal government agencies including the U.S. Department of Education and the Federal Communications Commission as well as collaborations with numerous state departments of education. He has testified to the U.S. Senate in support of on-going funding for broadband services to schools and libraries and worked with numerous congressional members in support of education policies to support students.

Gail Waldon is an educator and school improvement specialist. Throughout her 32 years in education, she has worked with school, district and state leadership teams in implementing strategic goals through conducting needs assessments and developing meaningful action plans to bridge the gap. She has extensive experience in facilitating professional learning, observing teaching practices in classrooms, and providing actionable feedback. Her experiences also include facilitating data chats with administrative and teaching teams to determine strengths and challenges and identifying appropriate interventions at the school, grade team, and student level. She is also a strong believer that communication is vital to the successful operation of schools. To achieve this, she facilitated collaborative planning with teacher teams, held monthly meetings with leadership teams, and guided the development of protocols for dissemination of information to all stakeholders. Gail’s teaching and learning style is built upon creating relationships and passion through the work as a team.
